Can gratitude improve your writing?

Updated: Feb 25, 2022

When most people think of writing, the first thing that enters their minds is usually not gratitude. For some, it is the opposite. But whether you are an author, journalist, blogger, or even a student, gratitude may improve your writing. Here’s how.

What is gratitude? According to the dictionary, “Gratitude is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.”

From this definition, we learn that gratitude is the quality of being thankful. Being thankful is a mindset shift. When we humans aren’t grateful, what do we do? We often complain, feel miserable, act like a victim, and most significantly, we shut down.

Shutting down leads to less action. Let that sink in for a moment.

You may have a brilliant mind, you may have an active imagination, you may even be the best writer in the world, but entertaining thoughts such as: my work will never be seen, I am not good enough, It’s too hard to make money writing nowadays, then you will write less. It is that simple. And the less content you put out into the world, the less likely your chances are of making your dreams come true.

Everything on this earth has a vibrational energy. Have you ever known someone who seems to have it all? Perhaps they are very wealthy, attractive, and have lots of friends. Why are they so lucky? It is because they have a high vibrational energy. They attract more.

The more people’s life you bless or bring value, the higher your vibrational energy will be. The more you will be able to magnetize good things into your life.

You may be thinking: Well, I have a low vibrational energy. What should I do? The key is to start practicing gratitude. Everyday, write ten things you are grateful for, and be sure to include writing as one of them everyday.

Start identifying yourself as a writer and be grateful that you get to do something you love. As you do this and continue to do this, you will start to see doors open in your life. You will see your writing improve. You will also notice that writing will become easier for you.

The more you practice gratitude, the more you will be able to manifest your dreams. Is your dream to become a international bestseller? If so, then start being grateful for the title. Welcome it. Give the title praise and appreciation and start taking ACTION. It isn't enough just to be thankful you also need to perform. However, as you practice more gratitude in your life, you will notice that you will be acting more.

So for today, write ten things you are grateful for and then go and write!
